At Manor Farm Academy, we have developed our approach to remote learning to ensure that our offer is fit for purpose and easily accessible for our pupils and families.

In Foundation Stage we use Tapestry and from Year 1 to Year 6 we use Padlet as our on-line learning platforms.

Tapestry

Tapestry is an online learning journal used in our Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings to document and track the children’s development and learning. It allows not only the class teacher to record observations, photos, and videos of children’s activities and achievements, which are then linked to the EYFS framework, but  also allow parents to access Tapestry to see their child’s progress and contribute their own observations, fostering a strong home-school connection. The platform supports a child-centered approach, making it easier for educators to identify areas where children may need additional support and to celebrate their successes and assist in assessing and planning for each child’s individual needs.

Padlet

Padlet is a versatile digital tool used in our academy to showcase pupils’ work in an engaging and interactive way. Acting as a virtual classroom, Padlet allows teachers and pupils to post and organize content such as text, images, videos, and links, displaying a variety of final projects, from written assignments and artwork to multimedia presentations. Teachers are able to create individual or class-wide Padlet boards where pupils can upload their work, comment on each other’s posts, and collaborate on group projects. This not only highlights pupils’ achievements but also fosters a sense of community and encourages peer feedback.

Times Tables Rock Stars

Times Tables Rock Stars is a popular mathematical tool used in our academy to help pupils master their multiplication tables through engaging and interactive gameplay. The platform transforms learning times tables into a fun and competitive experience by allowing pupils to create rock star avatars and earn virtual rewards as they progress. Class teachers will set specific times tables for practice, track individual progress, and identify areas where additional support may be needed. This fun and engaging mathematical approach not only enhances students’ mathematical skills but also boosts their confidence and enthusiasm for learning their times tables at speed.

Online Safety

Online Safety has never been so important, with many pupils spending more time online than they have done previously.

UK Safer Internet Centre has some really useful information regarding:  PHONES, LAPTOPS, SMART-SPEAKERS, GAMES CONSOLES, TABLETS, SMART TVs as well as SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDES.

The information can be found here

Also, other resources including games and activities to support E-safety learning can be found on this website under Pupils, E-safety.
